Adam Spencer Keynote Speaker Moodle ConferenceMedia personality Adam Spencer and Moodle Founder Martin Dougiamas are among those who will take the stage at MoodleMoot Australia. Moodle, the world’s open source learning platform, will host the MoodleMoot Australia “Together we grow Moodle” conference from Monday July 6 to Wednesday July 8, 2015 at the Clayton Campus of Monash University.

With an exciting roster of Moodle professionals, insightful keynotes, deep dive breakout sessions and face-to-face discussions and activities MoodleMoot is designed to help educators serve their students, improve their teaching and enhance their professional development. Hosted for the first time by Moodle HQ, the company behind the Moo- dle project, MoodleMoot Australia will celebrate new beginnings and taking a fresh approach to the Moodle commu- nity conferences.

Adam Spencer is an Australian radio presenter, comedian and author of The Big Book of Numbers. His TED presen- tation on prime numbers in 2013 is one of the most popular talks on maths with over 1 million views. Martin Dougia- mas is the CEO and Founder of Moodle, the open source learning platform adopted by over 60 million users world- wide. Martin’s major goal for the future is to improve the quality of education by encouraging social constructionist and collaborative practices within online learning communities. They will join keynote speaker Don Hinkelman and Master of Ceremonies Joyce Seitzinger, as well as other invited presenters, for MoodleMoot Australia.

“Education is the foundation of every effort to make the world a better place,” Mr Dougiamas said. “The Moodle community aims to support online educators with the best software that we are able to produce, and we give it away for free under a GPL open source license. Even though there have been hundreds of community-run conferences on Moodle around the world for many years, we’re excited that this one will be the very first one that Moodle HQ itself has run, and we want to focus on ways that the community can tell us exactly what they need from the next versions of the Moodle platform”.

Sessions and workshops are designed for the needs of the education sector, including a focus on primary schools, high schools, universities, workplace learning, VET, government, health and others. MoodleMoot Australia will also feature dedicated programs for teachers, administrators, researchers, instructional designers, trainers and others.
